Payment Requests & Links
Once PayID is enabled on your account, it becomes available as a payment option when you send a payment request or share a payment link.
Your customers will see PayID alongside other payment methods like cards and direct debit, giving them more flexibility in how they pay.
Here’s how the process works from your customer’s perspective:
- They select PayID as their payment method
- They are provided with a unique PayID email address (for example: ABC123@pad.live)
- They log into their online banking or mobile banking app
- They transfer the exact payment amount to that PayID
- The payment is processed in real time and confirmed instantly
For you, the payment is automatically received and matched to the correct customer and transaction. No manual reconciliation is required.
Consistent PayIDs
This is the most commonly used PayID setup and is designed to give you the best balance between control, accuracy, and a smooth customer experience.
With this option, each customer is assigned a consistent PayID email address that stays the same over time. However, that PayID is only active when a payment request is created for that customer.
Here’s how it works in practice:
When you send a payment request, the system activates that customer’s PayID and links it to a specific amount and transaction. Your customer can then use that same saved PayID to make the payment through their banking app.
Once the payment is completed:
- The PayID automatically closes for that request
- The system validates the exact amount, ensuring no underpayments or overpayments
- The payment is automatically matched to the correct customer and transaction
